Bench-mount sander?
Looks like the motor was fine, but the belt sander was bound up and you smoked the drive belt.

Bench mount belt sander, yes. However, the drive belt was off. That’s all motor self destruction. I had it on my bench and fired it up for the first time in a very long time. Previous life had involved rattling around in the back of my pickup. Unknown heritage prior to that.
